Summer Camp Direct Support Professional

Position Summary
This is a seasonal position working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Individuals may be behaviorally challenged. Please note that this temporary position runs from July 6th through August 7th. Additionally, there is required training scheduled for June 24th and 25th.
Essential Functions
- Maintain personal care and provide physical assistance for individuals.
- Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the camp participants.
- Supervise and facilitate camp participants community participation and integration.
- Provide positive verbal reassurance, reinforcement, and encouragement to campers in all situations.

Required Education
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
Qualifications
- A valid driver’s license and good driving record, as well as proof of current auto insurance is required.
- Must have dependable transportation with functioning heat and air conditioning systems and fully functioning seat belts for safety.
- Must pass all required federal, state and agency required background checks.
- Obtain and maintain all required training, including but not limited to, CPR, First Aid Training, and ABA principals and implementation techniques in accordance with CSS policy.
- Prefer one (1) year experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Physical Requirements
- All employees should possess the ability to:
- Lift 50 pounds or more on a repeated basis as required.
- Potentially bend, stoop, kneel, and twist repeatedly.
- Operate any required equipment with good dexterity.
- Traverse changing terrain.
- Periodically alternate between standing, sitting, and walking.
