Delivery Driver

River Valley Holdings is a family-owned distribution company based in Syracuse, NY, serving retail customers across the northeastern United States. The River Valley family of companies: River Valley Foods, Cavallaro Foods and Empire Valley,distributes a wide range of specialty dry and frozen grocery items and consumable products out of warehouses in Syracuse, NY 

Position Summary:

River Valley Foods is looking for a Delivery Driver to join our growing transportation team. This position is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of frozen and dry food products to retail and warehouse customers. This position operates scheduled delivery routes Monday through Friday, with most routes returning home the same day; occasional overnight routes are required. Occasional Saturday 2^nd shift required; assigned on a rotating basis, to facilitate local yard operations at our Syracuse facilities, supporting trailer movement and overall yard efficiency. The ideal candidate is a dependable professional with strong driving skills, a commitment to safety and service, and experience handling food products in transit.

Schedule: 

• Routes depart between 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM, Monday through Friday. Occasional overnight routes are required. Occasional Saturday local yard coverage required on rotating basis.

Wages:

• Starting at $28.00 per hour + Safe Driving Incentives

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate commercial delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
• Load and unload products using electric/manual pallet jacks and hand trucks
• Ensure proper handling and temperature control of frozen, refrigerated, and dry goods
• Verify deliveries with customers and collect required documentation/signatures
• Communicate professionally with dispatch and warehouse teams
• Represent the company professionally and deliver excellent customer service

Qualifications:

• 3+ Years of Commercial Driving Experience
• Valid CDL Class A license with air brake endorsement
• Clean driving record: No preventable accidents within the last year, no DUIs or license suspensions over 30 days within the last 3 years (MVR score under 16)
• Pass FMSCA-approved drug screening and pre-employment physical
• Successfully complete written and on-road driving tests

Skills & Physical Requirements:

• Familiar with DOT regulations and food safety transport guidelines
• Customer-focused with strong time management and communication skills
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cold/freezer environments
• Able to read/write in English and perform basic math calculations
• Physically able to sit, stand, walk, climb, and lift daily
