Essential Information

Title: Permanent Part-Time Retail Sales Associate

Location:  Store 61 - Dieppe Blvd

Union district: 3

Language requirement: Written and spoken competency in English and in French (meeting level “Intermediate or Level 2”)

Closing date: May 19th, 2026

Trial period: Six months

 

About the Position

Permanent Part-Time Retail Sales Associates are engaged and energetic members of the Retail team.  They bring skills in customer service, teamwork, and problem solving, and consistently act with initiative and good judgement.  

 

PPTs are scheduled to work a minimum of 30 hours a week, including Fridays, weekends, and additional shifts when requested by the Employer.  They are entitled to one Saturday and one Sunday off every fourth week, with the option to work these days if requested.  On occasion, they may be required to perform the duties of a higher classification as assigned by the Employer.  The successful PPT candidate will be required to work at the assigned store for a minimum period of six months, however they may be transferred to another location without notice.  All team members must comply with ANBL’s obligations under the NB Official Languages Act.

 

What will you be doing? 

  • Delivering a B.E.S.T. customer experience
  • Selling products, handling cash, and operating a cash register
  • Light to moderate lifting (up to 40 lbs) to receive and process stock
  • Loading and unloading trucks
  • Routine clerical and office tasks
  • Light cleaning and custodial work

What do you need to be successful?  

For a transfer

  • Presently employed as a Permanent Part-Time Retail Sales Associate
  • Completed the Retail Sales Associate certification from the Retail Council of Canada orthe PPT prerequisite courses in the KEG portal
    • Note: PPT team members who became PPTs prior to October 14, 2020, are exempt from completing the PPT prerequisite courses in the KEG portal for transfers ONLY
  • Spoken and written communication meeting the standards and requirements outlined in the Essential Information above

 

For a vacancy

  • Presently employed as a Casual Retail Sales Associate with a successfully completed trial period
  • Completed the Retail Sales Associate certification from the Retail Council of Canada or the PPT prerequisite courses in the KEG portal
  • Spoken and written communication meeting the standards and requirements outlined in the Essential Information above

 

Please note the order of preference:

  1. Demotion
    1. Full-time bargaining employees requesting a demotion
  2. Transfer
    1. Permanent Part-time bargaining employees having completed their trial period 
  3. Promotion
    1. Retail Casual employees meeting all requirements or non-retail Casual Bargaining employees meeting KEG Portal requirements.
    2. Casual Bargaining employees interviewed within the last 3 months for a PPT RSA position.

 

** Note that preference is first given to employees within the same Union district.
