Own Your Account. Drive the Operation.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days look the same, this role was built for you. Hill Brothers Transportation is looking for a Day Local Operations Coordinator/City Dispatcher to run point on the Skinner Account — managing local drivers, coordinating freight, and making sure every load moves the way it's supposed to.

This isn't a passive role. You'll supervise drivers directly, own the relationship with the customer, keep trailer pools in check, and make real-time decisions that keep the operation running smoothly. If you're someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and knows how to get things done under pressure, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

You'll be the day-to-day operational lead for the Skinner Account. That means dispatching local drivers and maximizing their productivity, processing bills of lading, and staying in close communication with the customer to make sure their freight expectations are met. You'll manage trailer pools across assigned locations, coordinate with shop personnel on equipment needs, and conduct twice-daily yard checks to ensure trailer accuracy and temperature compliance. You'll also monitor driver Hours of Service to keep the account in line with FMCSR requirements and coach drivers on telematics usage.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2–4 years of experience in dispatching, transportation operations, or a related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • TMW or Innovative software experience a plus
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills — you know how to find the yes
  • Ability to stay organized and composed when things move fast
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and Hours of Service requirements preferred

Schedule Details

This position works Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Saturday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. If your regularly scheduled shift falls on a holiday, you are expected to cover that shift. This is a non-negotiable part of the role — we want candidates who know what they're signing up for.

Why Hill Brothers?

Our core values — Give a Sh*t, Traditions, We Not Me, Relentless, Adaptable, Spirit of Service, and Forward Thinking — aren't just words on a wall.
