What role you will play on the team:
The Production Operator completes assigned production activities, delivering daily expected quantity and quality targets by efficiently and safely operating equipment of production lines related to blending, dispersion, packing powder, liquid pigments and adhesive products with minimal supervision in a collaborative team environment during a regular 8-hour shift.
This position may be assigned to work in different areas on a single shift.
What you will do:
- Adhere to all housekeeping, safety protocols and plant rules.
- Get batch ticket and fully understand assignment requirements.
- Transfer required materials to fill the assigned batch order(s).
- Verify equipment to make sure it is working properly, clean out equipment and prepare equipment for product change as needed.
- Set up the production equipment and verify materials accuracy before executing the job orders.
- Safely load the correct materials and quantities on equipment.
- Prepare dry or liquid blends according to prescribed formulations.
- Adequately mix products and take required samples to the Quality Control lab.
- Correctly label associated packaging materials (bags or cleaned containers).
- Pack dry and liquid blend products according to work instructions.
- Press, cover, wrap pallets and move finished product to the staging area.
- Complete assigned tasks based on priorities; inform progress; report problems and batch results to the Production Lead - Supervisor.
- Ensure a high level of safety, quality and productivity while minimizing time and materials waste.
- Support junior operators with their assignments and provide training as needed.
- Safely operate pallet jacks and forklifts to transfer materials.
- Comply with City, State and Federal requirements such as safety protocols, proper waste disposal, etc.
- Maintain the assigned work area clean, safe and organized on a constant basis.
- Accurately complete counts during inventories.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and adjustments (such as cleaning in-line filters in liquid systems and adjustments on the Fawema).
Requirements
What skills and qualifications you will bring:
Required Education and Experience
· High school diploma
Preferred Education and Experience / Qualifications
· High school diploma
· 1 year as Production Operator in an Industrial environment
· Able to speak, write, and read English preferably.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to perform all job functions safely and successfully.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
· Must be able to maintain punctual attendance, have reliable transportation.
Other Considerations
This job requires work in a pigment manufacturing facility. Exposure to dirty, dusty, hot, and cold environments is common. All personal protective equipment required to safely work in these conditions will be provided but the applicant must be able to tolerate working in these conditions.
