Overview
The Inventory Control Analyst II (IA) will conduct scheduled inventory audits via physical cycle count process by checking physical stock against inventory records to ensure accuracy. The IA analyzes and interprets inventory-related data from various sources, such as receipt of inventory records, supplier (CMO) information, and inventory management systems. The IA is also responsible for managing and optimizing inventory operations, ensuring accurate stock levels, and facilitating the smooth flow of goods within the organization. With expertise in data mining, statistical analysis, and data visualization, the analyst identifies patterns, trends, and insights that inform inventory strategies.
Responsibilities
- Collects sales and inventory data to identify trends in loss and recovery. Report gathering and preparation for weekly or monthly summaries for management regarding inventory accuracy, turnover rates, and obsolescence.
- Monitors and analyzes inventory levels, turnover, and trends to prevent shortages and ensure raw materials and finished goods inventory accuracy is = 97–99%
- Maintains and updates inventory databases, using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) or WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) software
- Audits the ERP item master, BOMs, routings, and inventory transactions via regular physical audits (cycle counts) and investigating inaccuracies between physical stock and system records and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accuracy of system and physical location
- Partners with QC/QA on non-conformances and quarantine inventory by developing and implementing inventory control procedures and recommending system enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Works closely with Supply chain, Sales, Manufacturing and Logistics teams to coordinate inventory flows and ensure timely transfer of inventory between locations and replenishment of stock
- Investigates inventory losses or discrepancies and implement strategies to prevent future issues. Trains staff on inventory procedures and best practices.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics and manufacturing operations inventory control
- Proven ability to maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking stock levels, conducting regular audits, and reconciling discrepancies between physical counts and inventory records
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex datasets and identify root causes of errors with proficiency in Microsoft Excel with experience with inventory software like SAP, Oracle, Epicor, NetSuite
- Ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks and work in a warehouse environment is preferred
- CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) are preferred
- Interest in cars and car care, a plus!
Work Environment
- This role requires prolonged sitting at a desk utilizing a computer and standing/walking throughout the warehouse facility with exposure to raw materials, loud noises, and varying warehouse temperatures
- Ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks to move inventory as needed
- Proper PPE and adherence to dress code when required
