About The Company
Specializing in organic, natural, and gluten free foods. We bring healthier eating to the Milwaukee & Waukesha areas at competitive prices.
Our aim is to:
- improve the health of our customers by offering products that don’t contain harmful ingredients
- educate area residents about better choices in their food and overall health
- reduce our carbon footprint by offering as many local foods and local products as possible
We are proud to offer:
- USDA certified organic foods
- locally grown foods
- sustainably harvested foods
- over 1000 gluten-free options
- fairly traded
We believe in the importance of eating organic. It's our opinion that the increased use of partially hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, chemicals and pesticides in the general food supply is a major factor in the rise of many current day illnesses such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and obesity.
We believe that the food you eat matters greatly! Eating organic is a simple, enjoyable and worthwhile choice that can vastly improve your health.
Our foods contain:
- no partially hydrogenated oils
- no high-fructose corn syrup
- no artificial sweeteners
- no added MSG
- no bleach
- no sodium nitrates
About the Role
Description
Good Harvest Market is Waukesha County's largest independently owned natural and organic grocer. We're looking for a hands-on problem solver who takes as much pride in the cleanliness of our facility as they do in a successful repair. This is a varied, active role that keeps our store, restaurant, and grounds running safely and looking their best every day.
What You'll Do
- Keep our facility clean and safe — restrooms, floors, entrances, and customer areas are a daily priority and a core part of this role
- Perform onsite equipment repairs and preventative maintenance on refrigeration, commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC, and building systems
- Troubleshoot facility and equipment issues and determine when outside contractors are needed
- Maintain outdoor spaces including walkways, patios, and the playground area — weeding, planting, litter pickup, and general upkeep — and assist with weather-related safety needs such as salting and clearing walkways
- Track completed tasks, ongoing projects, and repair activity to support accountability and continuity
What We're Looking For
- A hands-on self-starter who takes pride in both fixing things and keeping spaces clean
- Someone who genuinely doesn't mind the custodial side of the job — daily cleaning is a core function of this role, not an afterthought
- Organized and dependable, with the ability to manage priorities and follow through consistently
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions year-round
What You'll Get
- $20–$25/hr depending on experience, paid weekly every Friday
- Full time benefits including medical, dental, vision, employer-paid life and disability insurance, paid time off, and paid holidays
- Simple IRA retirement plan with employer match
- Generous employee discount on store products and restaurant dining
- A stable, mission-driven workplace
Requirements
Experience & Skills
- Prior experience in facilities maintenance, equipment repair, or a related hands-on trade required
- Demonstrated ability to perform onsite repairs and troubleshoot equipment issues independently
- Experience with commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration, or HVAC systems strongly preferred
- Comfortable with custodial and groundskeeping duties as a daily core function of the role
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and use good judgment about safety and scope
- Comfortable using basic tracking tools to log tasks, projects, and completed repairs
Work Environment & Schedule
- Full time, Tuesday through Saturday with occasional flexibility needed based on operational demands
- Must be available to respond to weather-related needs as they arise
- Work takes place both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions year-round
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds; regular lifting up to 75 pounds during maintenance tasks and weather events
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, and standing throughout the shift
- Use of mechanical aids such as dollies and sliders for heavier equipment
