Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and community-driven Enrollment & Outreach Specialist to support our full enrollment initiatives through strategic recruitment, outreach, and family engagement efforts. This role plays a critical part in ensuring program accessibility and compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and Department of Early Education & Care (EEC) regulations.
The ideal candidate is passionate about connecting families to resources, building community partnerships, and promoting program services. This position also serves as the program’s SNAP Outreach Partner, helping families access benefits that support long-term stability.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Outreach
- Plan and participate in community outreach events to recruit eligible children and families
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to maintain full enrollment and reduce vacancies
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, schools, and service providers
- Represent the program at events, fairs, and forums to increase visibility
- Analyze community needs and demographics to inform outreach strategies
- Collaborate with internal teams to track, measure, and improve outreach effectiveness
Enrollment & Intake Support
- Assist with family intake and application processes
- Support documentation collection and eligibility determination
- Maintain accurate data in enrollment systems (e.g., CCFA)
- Monitor enrollment status and help minimize vacancies
- Ensure compliance with ERSEA requirements and program policies
SNAP Outreach & Family Support
- Serve as the program’s SNAP Outreach Partner
- Assist families with SNAP applications and benefit maintenance
- Provide guidance on eligibility and connect families to additional resources
Data Tracking & Compliance
- Track recruitment, outreach, and enrollment activities
- Maintain accurate records and support reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with Head Start ERSEA standards
- Provide regular updates on enrollment trends and progress
Collaboration & Program Support
- Work closely with education, family support, and leadership teams
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and planning initiatives
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts
Requirements
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Early Childhood Education, or related field (preferred)
- Experience in outreach, recruitment, or family services (required)
- Knowledge of Head Start and ERSEA processes (preferred)
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build relationships with diverse communities
- Experience working with underserved populations
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Availability for evening/weekend events
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between sites
