About the Role

Senior Group Leader

Grade 8

Summary:

The Production Group Leader II located in our MC facility reports to our Supervisor and is responsible for leading assigned groups with the objective of achieving production goals including on-time completion of orders, maintaining quality and efficiency expectations, making effective job assignments as allowed by the training matrix, and general support and supervision of the production team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely completion of orders as assigned by the Production Coordinator or the Plant Supervisor.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving quality, parts, equipment, capacity, and employee performance problems, and executing the RMA process.
  • Perform assembly, calibration, and test operations in the manufacture of subassemblies and finished product from verbal or written instruction including BOMs, routings, work instructions, assembly drawings and samples. Assembly work may involve soldering.
  • Determine material, tool, and equipment requirements from manufacturing orders, assembly drawings and/or work instructions.
  • Ensure assigned duties for the team are performed in a safe and expeditious manner in accordance with established labor and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot routine production problems involving component part/assembly quality and tool/equipment failures.
  • Communicate production problems, within the scope of their assignments that would affect either the timely delivery or the expected quality of their work, to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • May use a variety of power and hand tools such as screw drivers, torque wrenches, epoxy dispensers, riveters, hammers, soldering & de-soldering equipment, etc .
  • Use simple electrical or mechanical test devices to assure proper operation of parts or assemblies.
  • Knowledgeable and capable of creating work orders, IPs, assigning Consult Factory dates and scheduling production to meet demand.
  • Must be familiar with MRP system and capable of ensuring timely arrival of raw materials. 
  • Maintain an effective dialogue with all employees to foster good employee morale.
  • Expected to obtain soldering certification if not already certified.
  • Ensures all plant rules are followed by coaching and leading by example.
  • Ensures accurate labor tracking per commodity code or MO.
  • Shares responsibility for ensuring all calibrated equipment is up to date.
  • Must have familiarity with all processes and products within the MC mfg. plant.

Required Skills / Experience / Equipment Operation:

  • Must be capable of completing duties with minimal supervision.
  • Requires capability of leading and demonstrating a positive teamwork environment.

  • Possess quality awareness of products.
  • Must manage work orders.
  • Capable of reporting out in a team environment

Physical/Mental Essential Functions:
