Summary
The procurement coordinator is responsible for supporting the procurement and animal welfare team members. This position supports the purchase and delivery of loads of live hogs to fulfill contracted agreements. Team member will be required to maintain professional business relationships with producers, transporters, and logistics teams.
Education, Licensure and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior livestock experience in a USDA inspected meat facility preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Bilingual preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Please note: This in no way states or implies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform. - Check-in transporters for correct load, truck line, freight rate, and any other relevant information to ensure accuracy and report any discrepancies. Team member must be able to handle multiple communication styles.
- Monitor and track activity on loads through the company’s procurement system.
- Communicate new loads, or any load changes to procurement management.
- Review procurement system and website to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in collecting all necessary load information before delivery, including communication with producers or logistics managers.
- Perform data entry for negotiated purchases as needed.
- Support procurement team by organizing weekly obligation summaries.
- Support data collection on the harvest floor.
- Support new hire training.
- Monitor and report site assessment compliance.
- Perform recounts using recording and camera software.
- Perform data entry for new transporter information.
- Track freight optimization and delivery obligation changes.
- Compile information relevant to the procurement department.
- Complete Transport Quality Assurance (TQA) training.
- Establish excellent business relationships with producers for the procurement of hogs.
