About the Role

Location: Lexington Park, MD

Security Clearance Requirement: Active Secret with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

What You’ll Do:

 

Are you a motivated, detail-oriented self-starter with an interest in the Security field? As our Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO), you will support the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in maintaining compliance with federal security regulations while helping safeguard personnel, facilities, and classified information. This position will be based in our Lexington Park, MD corporate office. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the FSO in administering security programs in compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), ICD 705, and related regulations. 
  • Maintain and manage employee security records and documentation. 
  • Coordinate new hire security onboarding, including briefings and required training. 
  • Process visit requests through the Defense Information System for Security (DISS). 
  • Assist with planning, tracking, and execution of required DCSA security training. 
  • Conduct security briefings and debriefings as needed. 
  • Support government audits and internal self-inspections. 
  • Coordinate classified meetings and ensure proper safeguarding of materials. 
  • Assist with facility access control and physical security measures. 
  • Support response and reporting for security incidents and insider threat requirements. 
  • Manage foreign travel reporting and ensure compliance with applicable policies. 
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the FSO to ensure ongoing compliance.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring:   

  • High school diploma/GED, required. Associate’s degree or some college coursework, preferred. 
  • 1 to 2 years of progressive administrative experience is required. Experience in Security field is highly desired. 
  • Completion of, or the ability to complete, CDSE training (e.g., FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities).
  • Understanding and working knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 highly desired.
  • Experience utilizing the DISS Information System for Security, preferred.

Security Clearance Requirement:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary Range:

  • The anticipated hourly salary range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00, commensurate with an individual’s experience, qualifications, and skill set. ASEC is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation.
