We’re hiring a Senior Cost Accountant to oversee accounting functions, analyze manufacturing costs, and support financial decision-making.—and turn manufacturing data into clear insights that shape business decisions. You’ll partner day-to-day with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance leadership to ensure accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Accounting & Inventory Management
- Maintain and improve standard costing systems, including annual cost roll processes
- Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances and provide actionable insights
- Monitor inventory valuation, reserves, and obsolescence
- Reconcile inventory subledger to general ledger and investigate discrepancies
- Ensure accurate cost allocation across products, departments, and production lines
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost accounting reports
- Perform gross margin analysis by product, customer, and channel
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including standard cost updates
- Provide detailed cost analysis to support pricing and profitability initiatives
- Support month-end close and initiatives to improve close timelines
Manufacturing & Operations Support
- Partner with plant leadership to track production performance and efficiency metrics
- Analyze production yields, scrap, and labor utilization
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction efforts
- Assist with capital expenditure analysis and ROI modeling
Controls & Compliance
- Maintain internal controls over inventory and cost accounting processes
- Support internal and external audits
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive improvements in ERP systems and cost accounting processes
- Develop and enhance reporting tools, dashboards, and KPIs
- Support system implementations or upgrades related to costing and inventory
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4–8+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, CPG experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
- Knowledge of US GAAP
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with data tools (Power BI, Tableau) preferred
- CPA designation desirable but not required

Salary range: $90,000 to $110,000 annually
