About the Role

Description

Staples Construction is seeking an experienced full-time Senior Accountant with experience to join our 6-person accounting team. This position will perform myriad accounting clerical functions under the direction of the Vice President of Finance. The Senior Accountant will have knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and possess financial analysis skills. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, assist with maintaining the general ledger, assist with cash management, AR and Compliance tasks. The schedule is Monday through Friday, and the hours are somewhat flexible. Full benefits will be offered.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the monthly closing processes
  • Manage the preparation and distribution of financial statements and reports, maintaining the highest quality, reliability and accuracy
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts
  • Perform financial analysis and investigate and explain variances
  • Assist in tracking, maintaining, and overseeing cash position
  • Assist with Treasury functions as assigned
  • Perform other accounting duties as required or assigned
  • Contact customers for updates on AR balances
  • Prepare and enter customer billings
  • Track and assist with compliance tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance; or completion of a college level intermediate accounting course with 4+years in similar role.
  • 2 to 5+ years accounting experience preferably in the construction industry, depending on education.
  • Strong technical U.S. GAAP accounting knowledge.
  • Good verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task to ensure that all deadlines are met.
  • Ability to operate in a very fast-paced, dynamic environment and produce high output.
  • Ability to deliver effective results while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.

Working Conditions:

  • Regularly required to lift, manipulate, and carry items of up to 10 pounds without assistance.
