About the Role

Description

Provide compassionate care where it’s needed most. Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services, in partnership with Indian Health Services (IHS), is seeking an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a contract assignment at Piñon Health Center. This is a meaningful opportunity to serve children and families in an underserved community while enjoying a consistent weekday schedule.


Start Date: June / July
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Day Shift
Hours: 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts)
Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Contract Length: Up to 1 year with extension options
Location: Piñon, AZ

What You’ll Do

Provide primary care services to pediatric patients in an outpatient clinic setting
Conduct well-child exams, sick visits, and developmental screenings
Diagnose and treat common pediatric conditions
Administer immunizations and manage vaccination schedules
Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
Educate patients and families on preventive care, growth, and development
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)

Requirements

Strong clinical, diagnostic, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Must be a U.S. citizen residing primarily in the United States
  • Experience with Indian Health Service (IHS) or tribal healthcare systems preferred 
  • Experience working in rural or underserved communities strongly preferred 
  • Must be able to pass a federal background/security clearance 

Qualifications: 

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (Pediatric NP or Family NP with strong pediatric experience required) 
  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (PNP or FNP) 
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of recent pediatric clinical NP experience required 
  • Active, unrestricted license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Active DEA registration (if prescribing within scope)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required  
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required 
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
  • Proof of education (diploma or transcripts required)
