Personal Banker - Float

Home branch will be in Wabash, IN - will be asked to float to branches in Marion, Converse, and Huntington as well

$18-$20/hr - depending on expeirence

Position Summary: 

The Personal Banker – Float is cross trained in all aspects of retail banking in order to provide the best customer experience in every interaction. This position is responsible for understanding all aspects of a client’s banking needs. They are responsible for understanding branch operations as well as deepening customer relationships by offering value-added products and services as applicable. This position will process client transactions, open new accounts, and take/close loan applications at various branch locations (as assigned). 


Duties:

  • Process customer transactions, such as cashing checks, handle deposits, withdrawals, and cashier’s checks, cash advances, property taxes, and wire transfers
  • Balance cash within teller drawer daily 
  • Comply with BSA/AML/OFAC regulations and guidelines while identifying and reporting any type of suspicious activity or clients to management and/or the Security Department
  • Process/Order checks and all related products for customers
  • Expand and retain bank customer relationships while growing new relationships from prospective customers
  • Educate new existing customers about features and benefits of bank products and services
  • Proactively refer customers to appropriate personnel
  • Conduct financial consultations with customers and take applications for all consumer loans including home equity line of credit applications
  • Open all consumer and commercial deposit accounts while looking for opportunities to cross-solve potential financial needs
  • Assist in verifying currency shipments, drop-off and night drop deposits, balancing the cash machines, and branch vault
  • Engage in personal development activities such as online learning and internal/external training to assist in career growth

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • This position requires a high school diploma
  • Must have reliable transportation

Preferred Qualification

  • Prior banking or customer service experience
  • Prior experience in cash handling

Skills 

  • Strong cash handling abilities, knowledge of appropriate government regulations, comprehensive knowledge of bank products, and operations
  • Must have excellent communication and listening skills, a strong commitment to providing quality service, and attention to detail
  • Requires dedication to customer service, by responding in a professional manner to customer questions and problems
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality in daily operations and interactions with customers and work effectively in a team setting 

Work Environment

  • Primarily office or branch-based environment with standard business hours. Occasional travel to other branch locations or community events may be required
  • Daily extended use of banking software, secure digital platforms, and standard office equipment
  • Repetitive hand and arm movements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds as needed
  • Moderate business traveling
