Description
The Events Bartender is responsible for ensuring that guests are receiving excellent drinks, food and service. The bartender will report to the Events Manager, as well as F&B Management, and work at the venue bar site. Bartenders will keep their bars running smoothly by handling day-to-day operations, as well as, creating a safe and fun environment for guests.
This position is seasonal with specific event dates and may require availability on weekends and holidays. Must be 21 years of age or older.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with guests and staff using clear and enthusiastic words, tone and body language at all times.
- Keeps bar top clean, picks-up all trash and empties beer bottles.
- Prepares fresh fruit garnishes, juices, syrups and mixers from scratch, stocks bar at start of shift, and breaks down and cleans bar at close.
- Verifies the legal age of all guests.
- Work as a team with all of SkyPark’s personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service.
- Arrange bars to maintain an attractive display in agreement with SkyPark’s Event standards.
- Maintains knowledge of all drinks, recipes and beer items available, the price of each, and how drinks are garnished.
- Enforce SkyPark’s quality and safety requirements.
- Responsible for taking scheduled breaks on time and in accordance with co-workers. Always reports to work in a clean uniform. No eating, smoking, or chewing gum on the floor or behind the bar.
- Monitor and ensure that no guest receives more than the allowed number of specific drinks.
- Maintain a fun and safe atmosphere for guests.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications:
- Have knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes.
- Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register or POS system.
- Must have the ability to handle physical activities, stand and walk for long periods of time as well as the ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Must be comfortable in a crowded environment and tight spaces inside or outside.
- Must have strong communication, excellent problem solving, observation and interpersonal skills.
- Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
- Must have or be willing to obtain required food and alcohol service certifications.
- Reliable and punctual attendance with flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
