About the Role

Batman's Hill on Collins is a 4-star Accor hotel in Melbourne, offering an ideal city stay for corporate, leisure and group travel guests. We are conveniently located in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, right opposite Southern Cross Station with easy access to public transport. Along with 190 guest rooms, we offer our guests and visitors a restaurant and lounge bar and a fully equipped conference centre with multiple function spaces.

We are looking for an experienced Food and Beverage Attendant to join our team. Working with our service and kitchen teams, you will combine warm, attentive service with an eye for efficiency and detail. Whether it’s guiding guests with recommendations at lunch or dinner, running our busy breakfast buffet service, or ensuring our functions and events run smoothly, you will help to transform our guest experiences into moments of delight.

As a casual part time team member, you will be paid at the award rate of $25.85 per hour plus applicable casual loadings.  You must have working rights in Australia to be considered for interview and student visa holders are welcome to apply.

Job Description

  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly and attending to their dining needs.
  • Take orders accurately, make recommendations, and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages with attention to quality and presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including clearing and resetting tables.
  • Collaborate with team members to handle guest requests and resolve any issues professionally.
  • Adhere to hygiene and safety standards, including responsible service of alcohol
  • Assist with event setups and functions in the conference suites and restaurant
  • Deliver in-room dining orders 

What we are looking for

  • Great communication skills, presentation and confidence to engage with guests
  • A genuine interest in food and beverage as well as in our local Melbourne area
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience in restaurant, bar service, and events is preferred - a passion for providing great guest service is what will really make you stand out!

Qualifications

  • The availability and flexibility to work various rostered shifts, including early mornings from 6 am, late evenings up to 10pm and on weekends and public holidays
  • Flexibility to pick up shifts at short notice would be an advantage
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol and Food Handler qualifications (or prepared to obtain)
  • Knowledge of H+L point of sale system would be an advantage, however not mandatory as training will be provided
  • You must have current working rights in Australia.
