What you’ll do…
ERock is seeking a highly organized and leadership-driven Inventory Supervisor to oversee our warehouse operations. This is a salaried position reporting directly to the Inventory Manager. You will be responsible for managing a large team of Inventory Specialists and Leads, who oversee specific functional areas including Receiving, Work Order Picking, Material Movements, and Logistics.
As the Inventory Supervisor, you will build a safety culture and ensure transactional discipline by defining and holding to processes, instilling the mindset of “everything has a place and everything in its place”. The Inventory Supervisor will resolve warehouse issues in collaboration with production, planning and procurement teams and lead strategic projects to optimize our racks and yard space for components and finished goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Development: Directly managing the warehouse team of Inventory Specialists and Leads, including assigning daily tasks, approving timecards, maintaining training records and conducting performance coaching and reviews.
- Operational Oversight: Managing all shipping, receiving and picking operations while guaranteeing inventory integrity through the strict enforcement of inventory management policies and timely transaction discipline.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Attending morning huddles and collaborating with Production, Planning, and Procurement teams to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are met.
- Cycle Counting & Auditing: Developing and overseeing a robust cycle counting program to ensure 99%+ inventory accuracy and compliance with quarterly and yearly audit schedules.
- Continuous Improvement: Leading projects focused on safety enhancements, maximizing warehouse and yard space utilization/racking, and improving process efficiency.
- Infrastructure Management: Overseeing the maintenance and cleanliness of storage areas, supplies, and tools to ensure total compliance with safety regulations.
- KPI & Data Management: Recording of receiving and shipment documentation to be made available digitally and develop reports to ensure each warehouse function is completing tasks on-time, including PO line receiving, PO lines error resolution, Shipping transaction posting and BOL and PL documentation, WO parts consumption errors, etc.
- Safety Leadership: Partnering with the safety department to report and replace broken tools and property, while ensuring all forklift equipment is functional and being operated safely by trained personnel.
- Resource Optimization: Identifying slow-moving or obsolete inventory (SLOB) and working with stakeholders to clear space for high-velocity components.
Requirements
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
- Leadership Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in managing a team, with a proven ability to lead and schedule staff, conduct performance coaching, and assist with hiring and training new employees.
- Operational Expertise: Deep understanding of warehousing processes and regulations, including ERP systems and how timely transactions are required to maintain an accurate inventory.
- Safety & Security: Comprehensive knowledge of security and safety operations and the ability to respond immediately to emergencies to provide assistance.
- Strategic Execution: Ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures while contributing to the overall optimization of the inventory.
- Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills to coordinate with other areas to achieve goals with minimum direct supervision.
- Administrative Proficiency: Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Excel, ERP and WMS and other MS Office tools.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Best Practices, SOX rules, and Inventory Count procedures.
- Technical & Equipment Skills: Experience operating various types of forklifts and a valid state-issued driver's license are required. Knowledge of securing loads and logistics planning with trucking companies is preferred.
- Self-Management: A self-starter who can multitask, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines on their own initiative.
- Physical Requirements: Physical requirements and working conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard warehouse setting and to use standard warehouse equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry 50 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Frequent standing, walking, and extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Lean/Operational Excellence standards and practices (i.e. 5S, Kaizen, etc.
- Knowledge of/ experience using inventory management systems
- Knowledge of/experience using financial/accounting system.
