About Westside Table

Westside Table is a growing multi-cultural faith community rooted in the Westside of Atlanta and is a second campus of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. We are a diverse and community-based church seeking to live the way of Jesus in practical ways as we welcome all people, including children, students and their families.

The Associate Director of Student Ministries will lead and nurture the spiritual lives of middle and high school students at Westside Table and in our community by building a ministry where young people know and experience God’s love, explore and grow in their relationship with God and make a difference through leadership and service.

This person will build relationships with students and families, design engaging programming, and create welcoming spaces that help students come to faith, grow in faith, and live out their faith.  We’re looking for someone with a genuine and authentic Christian faith, who connects well with young people, and is a builder who wants to collaborate and create something meaningful in a growing and creative church community.

Research, select and adapt appropriate curriculum, in consultation with the Director of Ministry.

Plan and lead regular youth meetings that include opportunities for Bible Study and faith formation, prayer, and growth in Christian faith.

Plan, lead, and execute regular opportunities to connect with existing students, potential students, and their families.

Build relationships with students and families through regular communication, outreach, and presence at church events.

Recruit, equip, and support volunteers to serve in student ministry.

Coordinate special events such as retreats, service projects, or mission opportunities.

Partner with the Director of Ministry and church leadership to integrate students into the life of the broader church.

Prepare and oversee the ministry budget, maintaining careful stewardship and accurate budgeting.

Ensure the space for youth ministry is welcoming, safe, organized and adequately equipped for age-appropriate use.

Maintain clear safety and communication protocols, including background checks and Safe Sanctuaries training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Comfortable articulating their faith in Jesus and practicing their faith in a way that is consistent with the values of Westside Table and Peachtree Road United Methodist Church.

Proactive problem solver who can follow through on completing assignments and projects in a timely manner.

Proficient in all forms of communication.  Effective with one-on-one conversations as well as large audience presentations.

Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and management skills to lead ministry teams, multiple events and supervision of employees and volunteers.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through oral and written formats.

Qualifications

A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian community.

Experience working with youth in a church, school, or nonprofit setting.
