About the Role

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Banquet Supervisor supports the Banquet Manager in overseeing daily banquet operations to ensure seamless event execution, exceptional guest service, and adherence to brand and service standards. This role provides on-floor leadership, supervises banquet service professionals, and ensures that all events are executed according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), labor expectations, and operational standards. The Banquet Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining service consistency, team accountability, and guest satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise banquet events including meetings, conferences, weddings, receptions, and group meal functions.
  • Review and interpret BEOs to ensure accurate room setup, timing, menu execution, and service flow.
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings to review event details, service standards, and staff assignments.
  • Oversee service execution to ensure food and beverage is delivered professionally, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Maintain continuous communication with the culinary team to coordinate timing and special requests.
  • Circulate throughout events to engage with guests and resolve service concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure banquet spaces are maintained in a clean, organized, and guest-ready condition at all times.
  • Supervise banquet captains, servers, bartenders, and housepersons during assigned shifts.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of banquet team members.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to ensure adherence to service standards and performance expectations.
  • Monitor staffing levels and make adjustments in real time based on event flow and guest needs.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
  • Address performance concerns and escalate issues to Banquet Manager as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling and labor management to align with budgeted guidelines.
  • Assist in inventory control and supply requisitions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
  • Attend required departmental meetings and training sessions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 1–2 years of banquet captain or supervisory experience in a hotel, resort, country club, or high-volume event venue preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on food and beverage service experience required.
  • Experience leading teams during large-scale events preferred.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Micros or other POS systems.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to read and follow banquet event orders (BEOs).
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and changing priorities.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor at all times- including provided nametags and company pin.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to operate standard banquet equipment and POS systems.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Capable of working in a highly active role involving constant movement across as 40-acre property.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 60 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to move and arrange heavy furniture and equipment safely.

WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • Fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and time-sensitive setups.
  • Exposure to noise, crowds, and varying temperatures depending on event location.
  • Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions. 
  • Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate with others, effectively handle/ assist customers and accept constructive criticism from supervisors. 
  • Requires coordination with multiple departments, including Banquets, Catering, Housekeeping, and Engineering.

Benefits for full-time employees include but are not limited to the following with an employee contribution: Medical, Dental, Vision, Short-term Disability, and Long-term Disability after 90 days of employment. Employer-provided Basic Life Insurance and Basic AD&D are provided after 90 days of employment. 401K eligibility is available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment, part-time employees can qualify to participate in a 401(k) plan after two consecutive years of working at least 500 hours. Currently, 401K Match is $0.50 on the $1.00 of an employee’s contribution up to 6%; there is a 5-year vesting period. Applications for all positions are accepted on an ongoing basis.
