About the Role

Description

Job Summary

Selects and inspects manufactured components to determine conformance to predetermined item tolerances and specification. Follows prescribed inspection procedures and uses standard inspection gages. Familiar with the sequence of manufacturing operations and associated quality specification of one or more items.


Duties

  • Verifies accurate calibration of standard inspection gages/test equipment
  • Selects manufactured components for inspection following prescribed inspection procedures
  • Inspects manufactured components using standard inspection gages or test equipment
  • Informs Production Supervisor or Quality Manager of non-conformance of inspected components when applicable
  • Communicates with Production Personnel to explain inspection procedures or results of manufactured components/materials
  • Performs special inspections/tests during Government/Customer sampling and inspection of manufactured components when required
  • Maintains extensive records of inspection results
  • When applicable, performs tests (salt spray, functional, destructive, Hardness, etc.) which requires training beyond requirements of mechanical inspection
  • Performs any related duties as required or assigned


Requirements

Requirements, Education, Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate information with managers and other company personnel orally and in writing
  • Previous experience as an inspector a plus
  • Decision making abilities as it pertains with concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30lbs frequently and capability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds occasionally.
