POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and personable Bartender/Mixologist to join our hospitality team in an upscale senior living community. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about crafting high-quality beverages while creating a warm, engaging, and respectful atmosphere for residents and their guests. The ideal candidate understands that hospitality in this setting goes beyond drinks—it’s about building relationships, enhancing daily experiences, and contributing to a vibrant community lifestyle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including classic cocktails, signature drinks, and customized requests.
- Engage with residents in a friendly, respectful, and attentive manner, fostering a welcoming social environment.
- Develop seasonal and themed drink menus that align with community events and resident preferences.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area in compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Monitor alcohol consumption and ensure responsible service at all times.
- Collaborate with dining and events teams to support community functions, happy hours, and special occasions.
- Manage inventory, restock supplies, and assist with ordering as needed.
- Uphold high standards of presentation, professionalism, and hospitality.
- Clear all tableware and glassware from tables and the bar after service.
- Prepares garnishes for bar use. Prepares snack trays.
- Maintains all documents necessary to accurately account for resident and guest charges.
- Assists supervisor with inventory of supplies.
- Assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests. Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in the work area.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
Requirements
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Education & certificates:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A valid state-required alcohol service certification (or willingness to obtain.
Experience competencies, and skills
- Previous experience bartending in a hotel, restaurant, or club is required, preferably in upscale hospitality settings.
- Knowledge of mixology techniques, cocktail recipes, and beverage trends. Wine, beer, and spirits knowledge.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine interest in working with older adults.
- Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor, and peers. Requires courtesy, tact, and graciousness.
- Ability to create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Special requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
