Department Overview

The Administration Department is responsible for these key activities: representation of administration on the St. Paul and Minneapolis Campuses, policy and procedure clearinghouse, business development, child advocacy and child policy, and community health and preventive medicine.


Position Summary

This position as part of the executive leadership team assists the professional staff and hospital management in fulfilling their obligations to each other and their responsibilities to patients for the provision of quality care. This position works closely with the professional chief of staff and other physician leaders, including division and committee chairs. This position must be responsive to the concerns and of professional staff members and is expected to foster, facilitate, and contribute to a close and mutually beneficial relationship between the professional staff and hospital management. This position is accountable for the clinical responsibilities of all medical directors and vice VPMA/CMO. This position is accountable for the clinical responsibilities of all employed physicians.

Must be a licensed physician with clinical training. Possesses exceptional leadership skills, including a faculty for conceptual thinking, peer motivation, and problem-solving, demonstrate initiative, demonstrate the ability to work independently; and have prior supervisory experience, champion change, IS knowledgeable of current pediatric literature.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
