About the Role

Description

Kendall Auto Group is one of the largest family owned and operated dealers in the Pacific Northwest and a premier employer in Fairbanks. We are looking for a Partsperson to join the team. At Kendall Auto Mall of Fairbanks, our parts department is a fun and friendly environment serving technicians within the dealership as well as clients and businesses throughout the community by selling OEM and aftermarket parts.

 

Primary Job Duties:

  • You will be working with other team members assisting customers, technicians and local businesses with all things related to the selling of parts for our represented brands.
  • Contact with each of the above occurs in-person, via phone, email and internal messaging 
  • Extensive computer usage, including electronic parts catalogs, online research, and invoicing/ordering using our dealer management software. 
  • Pull and put away parts
  • Maintain well merchandised displays in our customer areas
  • Routine housekeeping of the department
  • Perform regular inventory bin/cycle counts and maintenance to ensure organization and accuracy. 
  • Utilize all available training and achieve/maintain certification levels 
  • Assist with annual inventory

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity of the basic operating systems of a motor vehicle. Knowledge of these systems should be easily demonstrated during an in-person interview.
  • Customer service experience with a demonstrated history of tenure in these types of positions. Our ideal candidate can find the balance between being friendly and easy going, while keeping interactions professional and on task. 
  • Strong work ethic- you show up on time, can reliably work your assigned shifts, take pride in the work you do and communicate/plan for absences. Your work history and reasons for separation should clearly demonstrate these strengths.
  • Organized and detail oriented- you should like defined systems and processes, can research and follow defined procedures, and naturally keep things tidy. Our customers rely on us to get it right the first time, always.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary is based on an hourly wage + commission based on the overall departmental gross profit. Overall salary will be conmmensurate with your qualifications and experience. Average earnings in this position range $50K-70K annually.

Requirements

You  must have the ability to operate a wide variety of vehicles for both automatic and manual transmissions. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
