About the Role

As a Licensed Clinical Supervisor, you will collaborate closely with the Program Manager to supervise mental health workers and interns, reporting directly to the Senior Clinical Director. You may work across multiple programs, focusing on clinical supervision, case conferences, and overseeing clinical needs and co-occurring services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and uphold the vision, values, and philosophy of McAlister Institute. 
  • Supervise the scope, quality, and appropriateness of counseling services to ensure alignment with staff training, education, and experience. 
  • Facilitate treatment team meetings and case conferences, promoting integrated decision-making across programs. 
  • Provide individual and group clinical supervision for license-eligible clinicians, case managers, program staff, interns, and trainees.
  • Ensure all services meet evidence-based standards and medical necessity requirements.
  • Coordinate and conduct ongoing staff trainings, including internal CADRE sessions and quarterly motivational interviewing workshops.
  • Review and ensure fidelity to co-occurring curricula and interventions.
  • Assist Program Managers with implementing and monitoring program policies, procedures, contract requirements, and data systems.
  • Participate in and lead continuous quality improvement processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all mandated reporting requirements and assist with reporting as needed.
  • Monitor confidentiality practices to ensure adherence to HIPAA, Article 14, and 42 CFR.
  • Provide direct clinical services, including mental health assessments, psychoeducational groups, treatment planning, crisis intervention, referrals, and warm hand-offs.
  • Conduct specialized mental health assessments and coordinate referrals to specialty mental health services.
  • Collaborate with internal and external clinicians to support seamless client transitions.
  • Diagnose substance use and substance-induced disorders in accordance with Title 22 Drug Medi-Cal regulations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of behavioral health laws, regulations, DSM-5, ICD-10, and Drug Medi-Cal requirements.
  • Participate in agency leadership activities, including management team meetings, planning, evaluations, and cultural development initiatives.
  • Promote wellness and model self-care in alignment with Live Well San Diego principles.
  • Maintain a welcoming, safe, and clean environment and ensure equipment is in good working order.
  • Attend all required trainings and maintain up-to-date certifications to ensure ethical, culturally competent, gender-responsive, and trauma-informed service delivery.
  • Adhere to all personnel policies, including code of conduct, dress code, reporting requirements, and training compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current, valid California license as an MFT, LCSW, LPCC, licensed psychologist, or physician certified in psychiatry, held for at least two years.
  • Completion of a minimum of six hours of supervision training or coursework during each renewal period, in compliance with BBS supervision requirements.
  • Demonstrated success implementing and overseeing evidence-based interventions for co-occurring disorders.
  • Experience working in multicultural, trauma-informed, client-centered environments.
  • Proven ability to supervise interns, trainees, and clinical staff.
  • Experience collaborating with integrated treatment teams and ensuring compliance with contract and regulatory requirements (e.g., Title 22).
  • Ability to pass a drug test, background check, and provide a negative TB test.
  • Free of probation or parole for at least one year.
  • Clean driving record with minimum two years of driving experience.
  • Strong documentation and computer skills; ability to maintain accurate, timely records.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must meet all agency and contract requirements related to training, public health, reporting, and certifications.
  • Bilingual proficiency preferred.
