Water/Wastewater Process Engineer

We’re looking for an Associate Water or Wastewater Engineer to join our team – someone who brings a strong mix of process or mechanical engineering expertise, coupled with a proven ability to work directly with clients in New Zealand.
In this role, you’ll take the lead in designing and delivering complex water or wastewater projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes for our clients. You’ll be a key part of our multidisciplinary team, helping to shape solutions that are innovative, sustainable, and future-focused.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage water or wastewater projects from feasibility and design through to implementation and commissioning, ensuring successful delivery across scope, budget, timelines, and resources.
• Build and strengthen client relationships by acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact, while leveraging your existing network to identify new opportunities and support business growth.
• Provide tailored engineering solutions that align with client objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, working closely with multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes, applying this knowledge to continuously improve project outcomes and service offerings.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and team members, contributing to capability growth and a collaborative team environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• 12–15 years’ experience in water or wastewater treatment, with strong capability in process design and/or wastewater process modelling using BioWin and/or SUMO.
• Proven ability to win and deliver work, manage process components end-to-end, and successfully oversee project budgets, timelines, and resources.
• Advanced qualifications in Chemical and Process Engineering, Wastewater Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline. Professional accreditation and project management certification are highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of relevant industry regulations and standards, along with an established client network within the water or wastewater sector.
• A self-driven, personable, and client-focused approach, with the ability to build trusted relationships and contribute positively to team and project environments.
