Job Summary
A successful Vista Human Resources Generalist plays a vital role in cultivating a caring, compliant, and high-performing workplace. This position supports a wide range of HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, onboarding and offboarding, payroll support, benefits coordination, policy development, and system management. The HR Generalist ensures HR practices align with company values — care, clarity, and cultivation — while actively contributing to the mission of delivering an unparalleled experience to our customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviews, and candidate communication.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements and develop accurate, engaging job descriptions
- Facilitate all aspects of onboarding and offboarding, ensuring a smooth and supportive transition for employees
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Process semi-monthly payroll and off-cycle payrolls as needed, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain and administer the company’s HRIS and payroll systems
- Act as liaison with the company’s benefit administrators and manage employee enrollments, spending accounts, and plan communications
- Conduct benefits-related meetings and respond to employee questions about coverage and eligibility
- Complete required benefit reporting and maintain compliance with applicable laws
HR Operations & Employee Support
- Maintain up-to-date employee records including personnel files, medical files, and compliance documentation
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and adherence to policy
- Monitor and manage timekeeping system, resolving discrepancies and assisting managers with approval workflows
- Respond to ESD notices and serve as the primary liaison to the company’s HR consulting firm
- Maintain organizational charts, phone directories, and HR reporting as needed
- Assist in employee relations matters including investigations, mediation, and conflict resolution
- Facilitate leave management and accommodations in accordance with applicable regulations
- Conduct exit interviews, identify trends, and recommend improvements to the employee experience
Policy, Performance & Compliance
- Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures that reflect both legal compliance and Vista’s company culture
- Support managers with performance management, coaching, and progressive discipline processes
- Perform annual handbook updates to ensure policies reflect current standards and regulations
- Assist in compensation review processes by providing relevant data and administrative support
- Participate in goal-setting, progress tracking, and performance evaluation cycles
- Collaborate on strategic HR initiatives
- Utilize Ninety.io for HR project tracking, documentation, and accountability
Additional Responsibilities
- Support managers in documenting and developing written procedures for departmental operations
- Provide general HR guidance to employees and managers, promoting clarity and consistency in policy interpretation
- Stay current on HR best practices, legal updates, and compliance requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Type
Full-time, hourly, non-exempt position, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
Compensation package
- $28.25 - 31.50/hr

Requirements
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Minimum 6 months of payroll processing experience
- Minimum 6 months of benefit administration experience
- 5 years experience in HR field
- Strong attention to detail and organizational follow-through
- Ability to anticipate needs, maintain confidentiality, and work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe, and HRIS/payroll platforms
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in HR, accounting, or a related field preferred
- Desire for continuous learning and professional development in the HR field strongly encouraged
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
