About the Role

Description

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a mid-to-senior level Mechanical Engineer / Designer to play a key role in new product development (NPD) for our industry-leading hardware. This is a hands-on role where you’ll take concepts from idea to production, working on high-performance components used by musicians around the world.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop production-ready 3D models and drawings in SolidWorks 
  • Lead mechanical design for cast, injection-molded, and CNC-machined components 
  • Apply strong Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles (draft angles, tolerances, parting lines, assembly logic) 
  • Improve and refine existing components for manufacturability and performance 
  • Support prototyping, testing, and fit validation 
  • Prepare detailed engineering documentation and release packages 
  • Collaborate closely with engineering leadership and cross-functional teams 
  • Participate in (and eventually lead) vendor-facing DFM discussions 
  • Mentor and support junior designers and engineers

Requirements

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of mechanical design experience 
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (power user level) 
  • Strong experience with: 
    • Castings 
    • Injection molding 
    • CNC machining 
  • Ability to design to tight tolerances (±0.002”) 
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and constraints 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in fast iteration cycles 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills 

 Bonus Points If You Have 

  • CNC programming or CAM experience 
  • 3D printing / rapid prototyping experience 
  • Background in mechanisms or consumer product design 
  • Passion for music or musical instruments

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods of time 
  • Frequent use of hands for computer work, including typing, mouse usage, and handling small components 
  • Occasional lifting and moving of materials or equipment up to 50 pounds 
  • Ability to inspect and handle mechanical parts, prototypes, and assemblies 
  • May require bending, reaching, or standing during prototyping, testing, or shop-floor collaboration 
  • Ability to travel between office and production areas as needed 
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

This is a full-time, exempt, position located in Oxnard, CA that offers great benefits.
