Job Description

As Employment Relations Business Partner, you’ll play a critical role supporting the business to manage people risk and maintain a culture that is fair, commercially balanced and values driven.

Reporting to the Manager – People & Culture Business Partnering, you’ll own ER matters end‑to‑end and work closely with an HR Business Partner, leaders and MedHealth. You’ll also support safety and workers compensation processes across atWork Australia, including being the first responder to safety incidents.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage end‑to‑end ER cases including misconduct, grievances, performance management and terminations
  • Conduct and oversee workplace investigations ensuring procedural fairness, compliance and balanced against business outcomes
  • Provide expert IR/ER advice on legislation, awards and organisational policy
  • Support Fair Work preparation and matters in partnership with the MedHealth Legal and Workplace Relations
  • Coach People and Culture team and leaders to strengthen ER capability
  • Contribute to ER frameworks, policies, governance and continuous improvement
  • Analyse ER data and trends to recommend preventative strategies
  • Work with the MedHealth Safety and Workers Compensation team to be the conduit between atWork Australia and MedHealth.
  • Monitor all safety incidents and respond accordingly, including conducting workplace investigations were relevant

Qualifications

You’re a confident ER practitioner who thrives in high volume environments and brings sound judgement to sensitive situations.

You’ll bring:

  • Commercial awareness
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian employment law and modern awards
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and managing high‑risk matters end to end
  • Exposure to Fair Work Commission processes
  • Strong documentation and attention to detail
  • The ability to communicate complex issues clearly and practically
  • The ability to think outside of the square and take initiative to solve business problems

Qualifications in employment law or a related discipline are desirable.
