About The Company
FNZ is committed to opening up wealth so that everyone, everywhere can invest in their future on their terms. We know the foundation to do that already exists in the wealth management industry, but complexity holds firms back. We created wealth’s growth platform to help. We provide a global, end-to-end wealth management platform that integrates modern technology with business and investment operations. All in a regulated financial institution. We partner with the world’s leading financial institutions, with over US$2.2 trillion in assets on platform (AoP). Together with our clients, we empower nearly 30 million people across all wealth segments to invest in their future.
About the Role

Join FNZ’s Capital Markets Product Management team as a Business Analyst and play a key role in shaping solutions on our Syn~ platform - a market-leading post-trade capability supporting middle and back-office processing across multiple markets and asset classes. You will work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to understand desired business outcomes, translate these into clear functional and technical requirements, and ensure the right solutions are delivered into production.

In this role, you will be responsible for business and functional solution design, technical analysis of Syn~ platform capabilities, business process analysis, and end-to-end testing (including supporting client UAT). We are looking for someone who is solution and execution focused, comfortable solving complex problems in a securities processing context, and able to take ownership for outcomes on behalf of customers while building strong relationships across a wide stakeholder group.

The responsibilities will include:

  • Gather and analyse business requirements through consultation with broking, clearing and custody clients, as well as exchanges, clearing houses and regulators.
  • Produce high-quality requirements documentation (L2–L3), including user stories, scenarios, user journeys and solution designs, and support solution estimation activities.
  • Develop end-to-end test scenarios and contribute to regression, industry and sanity test packs to support robust product delivery and quality outcomes.
  • Build and maintain a strong understanding of Syn~ platform functionality, underlying business processes and capital markets workflows.
  • Partner closely with Product Owners and Solution Consultants to design solutions aligned to agreed scope, ensuring both business and technical requirements are met.
  • Engage with customers through workshops and discussions, providing consultative input to shape requirements and solutions.
  • Support platform implementation activities, including definition of data loads, migration scripts and migration procedures.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and training to both internal stakeholders and clients, enabling effective adoption of platform functionality.
  • Produce clear release notes and documentation (including FNZ Assist content) to support product enhancements and ongoing user enablement.
  • Support defect resolution activities, including investigation and root cause analysis, and ensure non-functional requirements are captured and documented.

What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate:

  • Proven experience in business analysis, ideally within a financial services or securities back-office environment.
  • Strong understanding of post-trade workflows, with experience across banking, brokerage or custody operations; experience within an Australian bank or broker is highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of ASX Clear and ASX Settlement (CHESS) processes and messaging, with additional exposure to SWIFT or other clearing house messaging considered advantageous.
  • Experience working with capital markets platforms, with exposure to FNZ Syn~ or comparable systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a solution-oriented, delivery-focused environment, taking ownership and driving outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate this into practical solutions.
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to understand and balance client, product and delivery considerations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging both internal and external clients.
  • Highly organised, with strong time management and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, self-directed approach to work, with a focus on continuous improvement and capability development.
