SUMMARY
The Automotive Technician – Level B (Intermediate Technician) performs a broad range of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics with moderate complexity. This role builds upon foundational skills and supports the service department by completing repairs efficiently, accurately, and to manufacturer standards, while continuing to develop advanced diagnostic and technical capabilities.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Perform routine maintenance and intermediate repairs, including:
- Brake systems and hydraulic repairs
- Suspension and steering components
- Alignments
- Cooling systems and radiators
- Batteries, starters, and alternators
- Fluid services and inspections
- Assist with diagnostics for drivability, electrical, and performance concerns under guidance from A-Level Technicians or management.
- Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections and recommend additional service needs.
- Accurately document repairs, inspections, and findings on approved dealership systems.
- Communicate repair needs and vehicle conditions clearly to Service Advisors.
- Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership policies.
- Maintain tools, shop equipment, and work area in a clean and safe condition.
- Participate in technical training and pursue ASE certifications.
- Support and assist C-Level (Lube) Technicians as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Our Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
- 2–4 years of automotive repair or maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of brake, suspension, alignment, and cooling systems.
- Basic to intermediate diagnostic skills.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- ASE certifications preferred or actively working toward certification.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned repairs.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a busy automotive shop environment with exposure to noise, moving vehicles, fumes, and varying temperatures. The role requires standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and reaching.
