About the Role

Description

Specialty Metals Corp is a high-end, precision fabrication job shop serving demanding industries, including aerospace and other quality-critical markets. Our facility is AS9100-certified, and we operate with a strong focus on process control, documentation, and doing the job right the first time.


The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated, entry-level CNC Press Brake Operator to join our team on swing shift (2:00pm – 10:30pm). This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or grow a career in precision fabrication. You'll receive hands-on training operating a 12-foot, 285-ton CNC press brake and work closely with experienced operators, CAD, and Sales to learn best practices in forming, quality, and manufacturability. Backup support for shear operations is also part of this role.


Pay range: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup and operation of a CNC press brake under supervision
  • Learn to form high-tolerance, custom sheet metal parts
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints and shop drawings
  • Measure and inspect parts using tape measures, calipers, and other tools
  • Support experienced operators with tooling selection and setup
  • Follow documented work instructions and quality procedures
  • Safely operate material handling equipment (training provided)
  • Provide backup support for shear operations as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Entry-level experience or vocational training in manufacturing, fabrication, or machining (preferred but not required)
  • Basic shop math skills and willingness to learn bend calculations
  • Ability to read basic blueprints or strong desire to learn
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded
  • Comfortable working in a high-mix, low volume job shop environment
  • Forklift or overhead crane experience a plus (training available)
