About the Role

 

KITCHEN HELPER (PT) 

Milford Senior Center (Meals on Wheels Program)

Monday – Friday 7:30 am to 1:30 pm 

(Paid holiday, sick and vacation time)

 

SUMMARY  

Maintain kitchen work areas and equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition.  Help kitchen staff with daily tasks.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in the packaging and distribution of meals
  • Prepares and cleans tea, coffee, and water urns (and condiments) for congregate clients
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, remove trash, clean, and sanitize pots, pans, and utensils as assigned
  • Follow sanitation and safety regulations as noted in the Food Code
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
  • Monitor food temperatures using thermometers
  • Backs up serving lines, makes sure the line has an adequate amount of food
  • Transfer completed food package to appropriate areas for transport or storage
  • Cather supplies and products needed for daily operation
  • Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION

  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

  • ServSafe Certification preferred but not required
