Job Summary: The Nurse Manager (RN) is responsible for the operational management and strategic planning of the department. This leadership role ensures high-quality care, compliance with regulatory standards, and operational efficiency to meet the needs of our patients, staff, and community.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations, including staffing, patient flow, and resource allocation.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and supervision to nursing staff to maintain clinical excellence.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with clinical protocols, policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between staff, patients, families, and hospital leadership, ensuring effective communication.
  • Identify and address operational or clinical issues promptly to enhance patient outcomes and staff satisfaction.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to the department’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Licensure: Current RN license or eligibility to practice in the District of Columbia.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience that demonstrates a progressive leardership background. Hospital background, preferably in an acute care or urban setting. 
  • Certifications: Certification in speciality preferred
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
