Description

Job Summary: The Interventional Vascular Specialist II precepts new staff and students. They should have intermediate knowledge of x-ray equipment and troubleshooting. Job Duties: - Assists in more advanced procedures such as pulmonary thrombectomy, AAA, TEVAR, FEVAR. - Able to assist with complex procedures; including multiple wire exchanges and able to use long wires and OTW balloons. - Should be able to use specialty devices such as laser, penumbra, Inari and shockwave. - Circulates, monitors and scrubs all Interventional Vascular procedures. - Troubleshoots imaging equipment collaborating with biomedical engineers for service. - Participate in procedural charging. Maintains supply management. - Able to act quickly under emergency situations. - Able to discuss with physician plan of action and assist with any high-risk procedures. - Cross-trains as needed to support departmental needs. Understands and works with x-ray system, including panning table and recognizing different angles. - Manages access site including proper removal of sheath, assessment of hematoma and knowledge of hematoma management. - Understands concepts of radiation safety. - Knowledgeable in vascular anatomy and recognizing different types of lesions. - Basic knowledge of supply features and applications to procedure. - Knowledge and adherence to sterile technique. - Able to communicate effectively with team, patients, families and medical staff. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Education: Graduate of accredited school of radiologic OR cardiovascular technology. 2. Experience: 1 year experience as an Interventional Vascular Specialist, Interventional Radiology Technologist, or Registered Cardiovascular Technologist. 3. Certifications/Licensure: Registered as an ARRT-R or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.) 4. Preferred Certifications/Licensure: ARRT-R preferably VI or CV credential. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock , Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation , Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks
