Job Summary

The position for Maintenance Material Handler/Parts Room Associate is responsible for shipping and receiving of all parts and other items delivered to West Liberty Foods, proper distribution of these items, and cataloging and storing the parts received in compliance with WLF policies.  Maintenance Material Handler/Parts Room Associates will also be responsible for the dispatching process for the maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain parts inventories.
  • Receive and locate incoming parts.
  • Sign out outgoing parts.
  • Manage repairs at the assigned area.
  • Gather manufacturing information on inventory items.
  • Create and route requisitions as well as crate PO’s as needed.
  • Issue inventory items to work orders.
  • Operate the dispatch systems which recreate real time data and work order/labor accountability.
  • Research part usage and issue history.
  • Account for all tools/radios, etc.  check out for the tool crib to ensure they are returned.
  • Perform 5S audits on the tool crib area.
  • Perform safety audits on the tool crib and interstitial spaces.
  • Work with vendors for quotes and availability on past due parts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • Experience:  Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role is preferred.   Experience with inventory management is a plus.  Must have computer skills to communicate and process data, preferred experience with CMMS, L2L, Google Suite.
  • Schedule:  6 a.m. to 6 p.m. working a 2 - 2 - 3 schedule with every other weekend off.
  • Skills:  Must be able to perform basic math.  Must be able to problem solve.  Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Age: Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorships are available.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Physical Abilities:
    • Ability to stand for long periods.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including above the head and below the waist.
  • Environmental: Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
  • Flexibility: Must be able to work overtime as needed. Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
  • Compliance: Must practice good personal hygiene. Candidates must successfully pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug test, background screen, physical and E-Verify.
