The Role

At Kyndryl Italia Innovation Services, our Database Administration team plays a critical role in maintaining the technological foundation of our operations. As a Database Administrator, you'll be at the heart of this function—designing, managing, and securing the databases that power our business.

Your Role & Responsibilities

You will be responsible for defining and documenting the structure of our database systems to support long-term business success. Your expertise will guide the configuration, installation, and maintenance of database management systems (DBMS), ensuring optimal performance, reliability and possible evolution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Database Management: Install, configure, and maintain DBMS across multiple environments to ensure high availability and performance
  • Security & Access Control: Manage user access and implement stringent security protocols to safeguard sensitive data
  • Disaster Recovery: Design and maintain comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to mitigate risk and ensure data integrity in case of system failure
  • Support & Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level support to end users and application developers, diagnosing and resolving complex database-related issues
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and fine-tune systems for optimal efficiency, applying proactive solutions to minimize downtime and maximize throughput
  • Capacity Planning: Conduct usage analysis and growth forecasting to ensure scalability in line with business needs
  • Policy Implementation: Develop and enforce standards, procedures, and best practices for database management and data protection
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align database initiatives with broader organizational objectives
  • Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement improvements to increase system resilience, reliability, and performance

Who You Are

Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

· Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Oracle database administration, including performance tuning, backup strategies, and security configuration

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

· Proficient in Microsoft Windows Server implementation, configuration, and ongoing management

· Experience in IT automation, particularly with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platforms and tools

· Working knowledge of MS SQL and MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including installation, maintenance, and query optimization

· Familiarity with Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) in on-premises environments, along with integration and administration of Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and/or Azure Active Directory (Azure AD)
