BI Analyst

We are hiring a Business Analyst – Business Intelligence & Data Solutions to help drive the next phase of our analytics and data platform evolution. This role will partner closely with Finance, Operations, Technology, and external development resources to define functional requirements, design reporting solutions, and manage delivery of strategic data and dashboard initiatives. 

This role combines business analysis, dashboard design, project coordination, data modeling collaboration, and financial analysis support. The ideal candidate understands how to translate operational needs into scalable technical solutions and can effectively bridge communication between business stakeholders and technical development teams. 

The Business Analyst will play a key role in expanding our analytics ecosystem, including customer insights, revenue optimization, workforce analytics, inventory reporting, and AI-driven operational insights. 

Business Analysis & Solution Design 

• Gather, define, and document functional business requirements across operations, finance, payroll, HR, and technology teams  
• Translate business needs into scalable reporting and analytics solutions  
• Create wireframes, prototypes, process flows, and dashboard concepts to guide development efforts  
• Facilitate stakeholder discussions to clarify requirements, align priorities, and drive project execution  
• Partner with leadership teams to identify opportunities for automation and operational improvement  

Dashboard & Reporting Development 

• Design and enhance Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions that support operational and executive decision-making  
• Develop KPI frameworks, reporting logic, and analytical views that improve visibility into business performance  
• Support development of new insight modules including:  
• Customer engagement and member acquisition analytics  
• Revenue and deferred revenue reporting  
• Employee productivity and compensation insights  
• Inventory and operational analytics  
• Promote dashboard usability, consistency, and adoption across the organization  

Data Warehouse & Data Modeling Collaboration 

• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external development teams to support the ongoing evolution of the Azure SQL-based data warehouse  
• Participate in data model and table design discussions to improve scalability, reporting performance, and data integrity  
• Apply data warehouse best practices related to table structures, data relationships, transformations, and reporting optimization  
• Help troubleshoot data issues, reporting inconsistencies, and performance bottlenecks  

Project Coordination & Vendor Management 

• Coordinate development activities with India-based development and support teams  
• Manage project timelines, priorities, and deliverables across multiple concurrent initiatives  
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders  
• Escalate risks, manage expectations, and help maintain alignment between business priorities and technical execution  

FP&A & Business Support 

• Support the FP&A team with business planning, forecasting, budgeting, and ad hoc financial analysis  
• Develop reporting and analytical tools that improve visibility into operational and financial performance  
• Assist with scenario modeling, KPI analysis, and executive reporting initiatives  
• Partner with finance leadership to support data-driven decision-making across the organization  

AI, Automation & Continuous Improvement 

• Leverage AI and LLM tools to accelerate requirements gathering, dashboard development, documentation, and analytics workflows  
• Identify opportunities to improve automation, scalability, and operational efficiency throughout the reporting environment  
• Support ongoing enhancement of automated ETL and reporting processes  

Requirements

 Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, or related field  
• 3–6+ years of experience in business analysis, business intelligence, analytics, FP&A support, or related roles  
• Experience gathering and documenting functional and technical requirements  
• Strong experience with Power BI or comparable BI/reporting platforms  
• Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data warehouse concepts  
• Understanding of data modeling, table structures, and reporting optimization best practices  
• Experience coordinating projects across technical and business teams  
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment  
• Willingness to collaborate with offshore teams, including occasional flexibility in working hours  

Qualifications Preferred:

• Experience working in multi-unit retail, franchise, hospitality, or service-based businesses  
• Familiarity with Azure SQL, ETL workflows, and enterprise reporting environments  
• Experience supporting FP&A, forecasting, budgeting, or operational finance functions  
• Experience developing wireframes, mockups, or dashboard prototypes  
• Experience using AI/LLM tools to improve productivity and solution development  
• Basic Python knowledge or scripting experience  

Success Metrics (MBOs) 

• Deliver clear, actionable functional requirements that reduce development rework and accelerate project delivery  
• Successfully launch new dashboards and insight modules aligned to business priorities  
• Improve dashboard adoption, usability, and stakeholder satisfaction  
• Support scalable and efficient data warehouse design improvements  
• Deliver timely and accurate reporting and analytical support for FP&A initiatives  
• Help deliver projects on time and aligned with roadmap priorities  
• Improve reporting automation, consistency, and operational visibility  

Work Environment:

• Hybrid role based in Tempe, AZ  
• Work onsite Tuesday – Thursday, remote Monday and Friday  
• Collaborate regularly with offshore development resources, including occasional schedule flexibility 
• Pay: $90,000 - $100,000 Annually DOE + 10% Bonus Potential
