We seek to cultivate the whole child — mind, body, and spirit — through rigorous academics, vibrant arts, and competitive athletics.
Position Overview

Cherry Hills Christian School is seeking a Christ-centered, passionate, and collaborative Middle School Language Arts Teacher who will joyfully partner in our mission to prepare students to live fully for God. The ideal candidate will be a devoted follower of Christ who is gifted in teaching reading, writing, literature, and communication skills while cultivating a classroom culture where faith and learning are deeply integrated.

Our teachers are more than instructors; they are mentors, shepherds, and role models who model the love of Jesus and seek to fulfill the Great Commission through daily classroom life. This role requires a strong commitment to academic excellence, biblical worldview integration, and equipping students to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage culture through the lens of Scripture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a Christ-centered, nurturing classroom environment that fosters spiritual growth, academic excellence, creativity, and student engagement
  • Design and deliver developmentally appropriate Language Arts curriculum aligned with CHCS’s scope and sequence, including reading comprehension, literature analysis, grammar, vocabulary, composition, and speaking skills
  • Teach students to read, write, think, and communicate with clarity, discernment, and a biblical worldview
Integrate biblical truth and Christian values authentically into literature discussions, writing instruction, and classroom interactions
  • Guide students in developing strong written and verbal communication skills through a variety of instructional strategies and assignments
  • Encourage critical thinking and thoughtful engagement with literature from diverse perspectives while helping students evaluate ideas through the truth of Scripture
  • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and meaningful feedback on academic progress and growth
  • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs and help students reach their God-given potential
  • Maintain consistent and meaningful communication with parents regarding students’ academic progress, classroom performance, and personal development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate biblical principles across subject areas and foster a unified learning experience
  • Participate actively in chapel services, prayer gatherings, and other spiritual life initiatives
  • Uphold high standards of classroom management that reflect grace, consistency, accountability, and biblical principles
  • Model the ideal team player traits - humble, hungry, people smart, positive, and loyal, in all interactions
  • Contribute to the broader life of the school through involvement in events, student activities, discipleship opportunities, and community building
