Your mission
At AVIAN, our mission is clear: we stop fires before they start. Our infrared camera systems and AI-driven monitoring help industrial companies detect abnormal heat early, prevent fire risk, protect assets, and avoid costly downtime. We have reached product-market fit. We have the product, the proof, and strong customer demand. Now we need to scale the technology that powers it.
As Software Engineer, your mission is to build the software backbone of AVIAN’s fire prevention platform. You will:
- Build and improve the software platform behind AVIAN’s thermal monitoring system.
- Develop reliable backend services for data ingestion, alerting, device communication, event history, and customer workflows.
- Improve our web applications, dashboards, and internal tools.
- Work on integrations with industrial systems, including PLCs, customer infrastructure, and partner platforms.
- Help make our system more scalable, secure, observable, and resilient.
- Work closely with hardware, AI, product, operations, and customer-facing teams.
- Translate real customer needs into simple, reliable software.
- Debug production issues across devices, cloud systems, and user-facing applications.
- Improve engineering quality through testing, documentation, code reviews, and better development workflows.
- Contribute to architectural decisions as we scale from early product-market fit to a global platform.

- Willingness to occasionally travel for team meetings, customer visits, or on-site product work.
- Experience in industrial IoT, hardware-enabled SaaS, machine vision, predictive maintenance, automation, safety tech, or robotics.
- Experience with real-time data, telemetry, monitoring, alerting, or edge-to-cloud systems.
- Experience with frontend development and customer-facing dashboards.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, DevOps, observability, or security.
- Experience working with cameras, sensors, embedded devices, or industrial protocols.
- Experience with AI-enabled products or data pipelines.
