Purpose: The Senior Manager, IM Privacy Support Services, is a key member of the IM Privacy Global Support Team responsible for providing expert operational guidance, hands‑on assistance, and process enablement to business partners across Commercial, R&D, and regional organizations. This role reports to the Director of IM Privacy Support Services and supports the execution of the Privacy Function Deployment Standard (PFDS) and helps the business, in their role as the first line of defense, to complete required privacy compliance activities and manage risks associated with personal data.

Primary responsibilities of the Senior Manager, IM Privacy Support Services include:

  • SPOC for Privacy Stewards to get answers and engage with GPO process owners

  • PFDS deployment support

  • Impact Assessment (XIA) support for Medium and High-level matters

    • Providing compliance guidance

    • XIA approval

  • Facilitation of Regulatory Change outreach to the Business

Senior Managers are well versed in the J&J Privacy Program and the essential GPO Global Processes, including but not limited to:

  • Privacy Impact Assessments

  • ROPAs

  • Risk evaluations

  • Third‑party privacy diligence

  • Data Subject Rights (DSR) and individual rights operations

  • Privacy policies, standards, incident support, audits, and self‑assessments

  • Privacy tools, technologies, and user enablement

In addition, they have access to and are knowledgeable about the latest guidance on regulatory requirements.

You will be responsible for:

Business Support & Operational Guidance

  • Provide subject‑matter support to business users, Privacy Stewards, and project teams as they complete PFDS‑required activities.

  • Guide stakeholders through privacy workflows, tools, and documentation requirements across assigned functional areas.

  • Troubleshoot process, access, and system issues; escalate complex matters to regional or global privacy leadership as needed.

  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application of privacy policies, controls, and regulatory expectations.

Issue Resolution & Escalation Management

  • Serve as an escalation point for questions or challenges raised by regional privacy leads, business teams, or partners.

  • Address issues requiring detailed process knowledge, workflow clarification, or specialized privacy expertise.

  • Partner with IM Region Privacy Directors to support regional consistency and resolve cross‑functional challenges.

  • Partner closely with the GPO back-office teams who develop our programs, policies, standards, controls, processes and tools.

Process & Program Improvement

  • Collect user insights, pain points, and recurring issues based on frontline support interactions.

  • Provide actionable recommendations to Global Process Owners (GPO) to enhance privacy tools, processes, and operational standards.

  • Participate in user testing, pilot programs, communications, and training initiatives supporting privacy program evolution.

Training, Enablement & Communication

  • Develop or refine job aids, FAQs, guidance materials, and training content to support business adoption.

  • Conduct live enablement sessions or targeted outreach to strengthen user understanding and compliance execution.

  • Help ensure awareness of process changes, new requirements, and system updates.

Compliance Execution & First‑Line Support

  • Support the business in meeting regulatory and internal privacy obligations across PFDS activities.

  • Provide guidance during assessments, audits, incident reporting, and other compliance activities as assigned.

  • Monitor workflow performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve completeness, quality, or efficiency.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in privacy, data protection, compliance, risk management, or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting operational processes, governance frameworks, or risk‑based workflows.

  • Strong working knowledge of global privacy laws and regulatory concepts (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD).

  • Ability to translate complex privacy requirements into practical guidance for business teams.

  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and issue‑resolution capabilities.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across diverse regions and functions.

  • Experience supporting enterprise‑level privacy tools (e.g., OneTrust) or GRC/workflow systems preferred.

  • Background in highly regulated, global industries (e.g., life sciences, healthcare, technology) preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and support change management across large organizations preferred.

  • Experience in process optimization, user support, or operational continuous improvement preferred.

Role Flexibility and Impact

This role is intentionally designed for flexibility and may shift over time to support program growth, business needs, or rotating areas of specialization. Regardless of assignment, Senior Managers serve as key enablers of the IM Privacy Program and are essential to bridging the needs of frontline business users with the strategic direction of global privacy governance.
