About the Role

Description

 The Autism Treatment Center - Rehabilitation Agency is seeking an energetic Full-Time Certified SLP or SLPA to join our team for our outpatient clinic! 


 Working hours will fall within the range of 7:30 am – 6: 00 pm Monday – Thursday. 

The administrator will assign caseload and hours. 

Must be flexible according to the needs of the Program. 

FLSA: Exempt 


 

The following is a summary of the major essential functions of the SLP or SLPA. Other
duties may be performed as permitted by Texas laws and regulations adopted by the
state agencies that are not mentioned here. Specific functions may, from time to time,
change. These functions include:
Essential Functions
? Must be able to treat patients who exhibit challenging, self-injurious, and
aggressive behaviors.
? Must be able to recognize that the challenging behaviors are a mode of
communication of a need/want rather than a sign that a patient is untreatable.
? Carries out individual and, at times, small group treatment sessions following
treatment plans for outpatient and school caseloads.
? Collaborates with Speech Therapist regarding all plans of care for outpatient and
school caseloads, including discussing progress towards goals and updates to
plans of care as needed (SLPA only).
? Completes all documentation that is required for each patient (daily notes,
summaries of progress).
? Communicates with physicians, appropriate members of staff, and patient and
family members regarding patient needs and progress, either by documentation
or, if necessary, direct contact.
? Supplies billing information to the appropriate staff in a proper and timely manner for
all patient procedures.
? Participates in and attends rehabilitation team conferences and clinic staff
meetings as scheduled.

? Observes patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA guidelines.
? Monitors inventory of supplies and equipment. Requests orders of needed
supplies and equipment in a timely manner to avoid emergency orders.
? Keeps informed of changes and innovations in the field through professional
contacts, literature, and continuing education.
? Assumes personal responsibility for professional development and continuing
education.
? Provides education and counseling to patients and their families that will reinforce
the therapy provided in the clinic.
? Demonstrates skills of effective time management.
? Demonstrates positive interpersonal communication skills while maintaining
standards of professional ethics.
? Follows all ATC Policy & Procedures.
? Performs other duties as delegated, required, or requested.
Physical Requirements
? Capable of lifting, guarding, transferring, and maneuvering patients of all sizes and
weights utilizing assistance or special equipment as needed on a recurring
basis and in a safe manner
? Manual dexterity and visual acuity to safely apply all necessary modalities
and operate the equipment.
? Must be able to follow written procedures and verbal directives.
? Must have adequate hearing and speech to effectively direct and redirect
the therapy program.

Requirements

 Qualifications
? Meets the education and experience requirements for a certified SLP or
SLPA.
? Valid SLP or SLPa license in the State of Texas
? Competent to evaluate and treat pediatrics and adolescents (treatment only
for SLPA).
? CPR/First Aid certification (Adult, Child, Infant).
? Must be able to collaborate and work closely with other disciplines


License:
? National Certification through ASHA (Required)
? Possesses or in the process of obtaining Texas State Licensure as an SLP
or SLPA (Required)
