Description

The Personalized Brain Health Initiative is looking to hire a courier of research samples for the Goizueta Institute Biorepository. Samples need to be transported between three buildings on campus (HSRB 1 on Haygood, Emory Clinic on Clifton, and Emory University Hospital). Hours can be flexible. Research visits occur between 8AM – 4PM.

 

Personalized Brain Health Initiative Mission: Leveraging the power of data in collaboration with patients and the health care community to predict, prevent, diagnose, and treat brain diseases, creating personalized strategies that improve lives.​

 

Goizueta Institute Biorepository: The objective of the GIN Biorepository is to establish a centralized repository for biospecimens, specifically blood, to support ongoing and future basic and translational research studies related to brain diseases.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs routine laboratory and general clerical tasks necessary for daily operation of laboratory.
  • Collects, prepares, cleans and stores glassware and other lab equipment.
  • Stocks and prepares media, reagents, chemical solutions and stains.
  • Maintains records and files.
  • Sets up laboratory and research equipment as directed.
  • Assists research and laboratory personnel with experiments and procedures.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
  • Employees in this classification may be required to work with, take specific precautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of related experience.

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
