Overview
Shift: Full-time, Days 6:00 am - 6:30 pm, for 64 hours per pay period, holiday and every third weekend rotation.
Provide expert respiratory care to a diverse patient population across inpatient and outpatient settings, ranging from neonates to adults. Deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate respiratory therapies and diagnostic testing while maintaining equipment, documenting accurately, and collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients' respiratory conditions by conducting physical examinations and reviewing medical histories.
- Administer respiratory therapies including medical gas delivery, nebulization, chest physiotherapy, airway management, and mechanical ventilation (invasive and non-invasive) for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and neonatal patients.
- Perform diagnostic testing such as arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and analysis, pulmonary function testing, and pulse oximetry
- Monitor patient physiological responses to treatments and adjust care or escalate concerns as appropriate.
- Manage artificial airways and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure patient safety and therapy effectiveness.
- Active member of the medical emergency response teams.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the patient electronic medical record (EMR.).
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams regarding patient status and therapy plans.
- Provide assistance with internal patient transports.
- Provide patient and family education on respiratory pathophysiology and pharmacologic therapies.
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment.
- Perform routine cleaning and disinfection of respiratory therapy equipment.
- Serve as a preceptor and mentor for respiratory therapy students and new staff.
- Participate in departmental and multidisciplinary committees focused on quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical outcomes.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program required.
- Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program required.
Experience:
- None.
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Must have current licensure in good standing to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in State(s) of Practice required.

- RCPWI
- Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
- Mandatory Reporter required within 90 days of hire.
- MRCDAIA
- MRCHILDIA
- MRDEPADULTIA
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred within 180 days of hire.
