About the Role

Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor high-pressure boilers and related equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of boiler systems, including pumps, compressors, and control systems.
  • Adjust controls and settings to maintain optimal steam generation and pressure levels as required for various operations.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Maintain detailed logs and records of operations, maintenance activities, and safety checks.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to implement process improvements and ensure system reliability.
  • Adhere to all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Support emergency response activities related to steam and boiler systems as necessary.

Requirements

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • Valid High Pressure Boiler Operator’s License or equivalent certification required.
  • Strong understanding of boiler control systems, steam distribution, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and procedures related to boiler operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.  
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in boiler operation preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with HVAC, BMS, and process equipment in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Requires standing, walking, and physical activity in an industrial environment.
  • May involve working shifts, including nights and weekends, based on operational needs.
