Job Description

We're looking for a skilled and passionate Cook to join our culinary team in Pennington, NJ. In this role, you'll prepare high-quality, delicious meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. Reporting to the Director of Culinary Services, you'll be instrumental in creating memorable dining experiences for our guests and community members. This position offers the opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise, collaborate with a supportive team, and make a meaningful impact through exceptional food preparation and service.

Salary Range: $20.00 - $21.00 Hourly

  • Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality dishes following established recipes and menu specifications
  • Accommodate special dietary needs by preparing texture-modified foods and customized meals as directed
  • Maintain strict compliance with all food safety regulations, HACCP protocols, and sanitation standards
  • Monitor and document accurate hot and cold food temperatures, refrigerator, and freezer logs to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Organize and manage food preparation, storage, and handling procedures to meet all food service policies and requirements
  • Receive, rotate, and maintain accurate inventory records of food products and supplies
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen team members to ensure efficient meal preparation and timely service
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and sound judgment in addressing kitchen challenges and operational issues
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
  • Assist with menu planning and contribute innovative ideas to enhance dining experiences

Qualifications

  • Current ServSafe certification or demonstrated ability to obtain certification
  • Minimum one year of job-related experience in food preparation, including full-line menu items and special dietary preparations
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in food safety practices, HACCP protocols, and sanitation regulations
  • Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and temperature control procedures
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work effectively within a team environment
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to food quality and safety standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly, with proper body mechanics
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Culinary knowledge and practical cooking techniques
