Work Description:

The Vice President of Finance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial functions of the organization and providing strategic financial guidance to the executive team. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this leader will drive financial planning, reporting, compliance, and controls across MVP’s global operations. The VP of Finance will serve as a key business partner to operational and commercial leaders, ensuring financial rigor and discipline are embedded in every major decision.


This role requires a highly analytical, results-driven finance executive with deep technical accounting expertise and strong leadership skills. Candidates must hold an active CPA license or have held a CPA license in the past.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Oversee the preparation and accuracy of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP

• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes

• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations; oversee tax planning and filings

• Lead external audit relationships and ensure timely completion of annual audits

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead the annual budgeting and multi-year forecasting processes in collaboration with department leaders

• Deliver insightful financial analysis and reporting to the COO, CEO, and board as needed

• Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities and communicate findings with actionable recommendations

• Partner with operations, sales, and product teams to evaluate financial performance against strategic goals

• Support M&A due diligence, integration planning, and post-merger financial analysis as needed

Cash Management & Treasury

• Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and debt covenants

• Develop and maintain investment and capital allocation strategies aligned with company objectives

Accounting Operations & Systems

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions

• Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and tools including ERP optimization

• Ensure accurate and timely cost accounting and inventory valuation across manufacturing operations

• Maintain intercompany accounting accuracy across global entities

Leadership & Team Development

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team across accounting, FP&A, and related functions

• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development within the finance organization

• Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Legal, Operations, and Commercial teams as a trusted business partner

Requirements

  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; MBA preferred

• Active CPA license required, or CPA license previously held in good standing

• 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial company strongly preferred

• Demonstrated expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting

• Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar); strong Excel skills required

• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing finance teams

• Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance audiences
