WEG Transformers USA located in Washington, Missouri was purchased from CG Power Systems USA Inc. (formerly Pauwels Transformers USA), in July 2017. WTU has proven to be a reliable manufacturer of transformers across North America, and many overseas countries. WTU excels in manufacturing three phase pad-mounted transformers, primary unit substation transformers, and secondary unit substation transformers up to 10 MVA. In addition, we produce three phase small and medium power transformers through 80 MVA top-rating, 161 kV. WEG Transformers USA has three manufacturing facilities in Heidmann Industrial Park in Washington, Missouri USA. Our parent company, WEG, was founded in 1961, by Werner Ricardo Voigt, Eggon Joao da Silva and Geraldo Werninghaus in the city of Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil. WEG operates mainly in the sector of capital goods and is one of the largest world manufacturers of electric-electronic equipment, having five main businesses: Motors, Energy, Transmission and Distribution, Automation and Coatings.

Role: Final assembler - A/C (2nd Shift)

You will perform a range of tasks in the production of a transformer, including:

  1. Interpretation and Application: Read, understand, and interpret BOM (Bill of Material), drawings, schematics, work instructions, and specifications to complete assignments independently.
  2. Preparation and Assembly: Select and prepare necessary materials, tools, and equipment, and assemble sub-assemblies as required. This includes the assembly of air compartments onto transformer tanks and other components.
  3. Installation and Verification: Install and verify the correct installation of auxiliary devices, and torque mark all bolted connections.
  4. Rework and Repair: Dismantle, rework, and repair units as required, both inside and outside the tank.
  5. Preparation for Shipment: Prepare unit for painting, including cover prep and priming, operate lifting devices as needed, and finish unit for shipment.
  6. Quality Assurance: Help identify and report oil leaks, liaise with the leak repair welder, and maintain quality and production records.

Requirements

Basic:

  • Safety: Complies with WEG Code of Ethics & Values, 4th Edition , and understands the role is Safety Sensitive with a drug panel including THC.
  • Quality: Can interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, and perform basic math.
  • Work Authorization: Holds current work authorization for employment in the U.S.
  • Shift Flexibility: Available for evening or night shifts, and limited over-time, including weekends if necessary.
  • Location: Resides or plans to reside within commuting distance of Washington, Missouri.
  • Communication: Demonstrates proficiency in basic English communications.

Preferred:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Experience: Previous manufacturing experience;
