About the Role
Description
Summary:
The Sales Manager will drive sales growth, manage key client relationships, and expand our market presence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, business development, and the marine/industrial industry, with a proven track record of building and executing strategic sales plans. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills to identify new business opportunities and drive revenue growth.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and implement sales and business development strategies to achieve company growth objectives.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities, partnerships, and customer segments.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with existing clients, distributors, and sales agents.
- Set sales targets and oversee the sales pipeline.
- Handle quotations, proposals, and pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
- Lead marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns for product offerings.
- Attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events to represent the company and expand the client base.
- Work closely with the technical sales team and internal stakeholders to align sales efforts with company goals.
- Define and monitor key accounts for long-term success and revenue growth.
- Take a proactive approach to lead generation, follow-ups, and deal closures.
- Provide market analysis and competitive insights to support decision-making.
Requirements
Competencies:
- Strong understanding of electronics and electrical marine/industrial products is a plus.
- Understanding of marine/industrial industry processes, regulations, and market trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently, stay focused, and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships and drive business growth.
- Proven ability to close deals, expand sales networks, and drive revenue growth.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
Educational & Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years of commercial sales and business development experience.
- 10+ years of overall sales experience, with at least 5 years managing large accounts or multiple smaller accounts.
- Strong knowledge of the marine/industrial industry (professional experience preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field OR relevant years of experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move around within the office setting or travel to attend meetings, conferences, sales meetings, or other business-related events.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with team members, vendors, and other stakeholders, both in person and through digital communication platforms.
