Behavior Analyst - Part Time

Description
To provide and oversee the provision of applied behavior analysis (ABA) services, as well as the development of new initiatives, within the Behavioral Health Clinic. Responsible for managing and training a team of staff; completing behavioral assessments; developing, implementing, and providing training on the implementation of treatment plans; and documenting all services provided within Faison guidelines.
Essential Core Responsibilities
Program Development
- In conjunction with Director of Administration and VP of Operations, develops processes to utilize data-driven driving simulator with both current and new clients; facilitates data collection and analysis of simulator use and client results for use in potential research opportunities and client recruitment
- Identifies funding sources for in-home and/or community-based ABA interventions
- Contributes to the creation of organizational policies and procedures for any new programs in delivery of ABA interventions through the BHC – could this read for “new programs”?
- Creates initial and ongoing budgets (with the Finance Department and Director of Administration) for new programs. “programs”?
- Participates in outreach and community awareness events to recruit clients for existing and new services
- Assists the Director in establishing new programs and initiatives, discern unmet needs in the region, and develop corresponding services, advertising, attending promotional events, etc. – would this be better listed under “Program Development”?
Clinical Activities
- Provides Therapeutic Consult (or other similar direct clinical service) to clients (target of 10 hours per week)
- Manages (or designates duty for) necessary application, renewal, and reporting per Medicaid requirements
- Oversees hourly billing and ensure accuracy of reporting of delivered hours to finance department
EEC Program Advancement and Administration
- Assists the Director with the referral and intake process, including new referral interactions, appointments and reporting; assists with New Client Enrollment, including securing and verifying funding, required paperwork, and necessary staffing.
- Identifies and notifies the Director of immediate personnel needs of EEC, assists in recruiting new staff (i.e., interviewing, orienting, and initial training), and anticipates and proactively addresses future needs. – this would be better under “Supervision” section
Supervision, Staff Training, and Performance Management
- Supervises staff providing behaviorally-based and educational services and skills training programs.
- Provides supervision and mentoring to Clinic staff seeking certification in behavior analysis.
- Regarding new employees, orients new staff, makes provisions for all initial training, and that all probationary period paperwork is completed at the end of the first 30 days of employment.
- Conducts training as required and directed, including but not limited to, semi-annual trainings related to emergency procedures, in-situ training on new procedures, and responding to individual and group training needs.
- Manages staff performance in a number of ways, including but not limited to:
- Weekly observations documenting using data-based, direct observation documentation methods.
- Counseling employees who are failing to meet performance standards.
- Generating performance or corrective action plans when achievement is unsatisfactory.
- Producing performance evaluations, according to the schedule dictated by human resources.
- Identifying additional development opportunities for staff members, on a case by case basis.
Administrative Duties
- Responds to safety issues/emergencies as needed within the Behavioral Health Clinic, and, as availability allows, throughout the organization.
- Oversees client safety and well-being as it relates to materials, cleanliness, sanitization, etc.
- Attends trainings as required and directed
- Administer medications as directed and in compliance with Faison policies and procedures.
- Engages in other duties and projects, as assigned by the Director of Administration.
Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Experience with and the ability to work with toddlers, children, and young adults with developmental disabilities, behavior problems, communication and social dysfunction, as well as with their families and other caregivers.
- Supervisory/managerial experience and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Expertise in the development and oversight of specialized curriculum and staff training.
- Knowledge, experience, and formal training in Applied Behavior Analysis.
Education Requirements
- Master’s degree in behavior analysis, education, psychology or a related field, required
- Hold or be eligible to acquire state licensure in Behavior Analysis, required (must obtain license within 90 days of hire)
- Certification in Behavior Analysis, required (BCBA®, CABAS®, BCaBA®, etc.)
Essential Physical Requirements
- Lift 50 pounds (and keep back straight while doing so)
- Bend at all joints fluently
- Move in and out of and maintain a kneeling position for up to five minutes
- Reach in all directions
- Grasp using both hands
- Move quickly in both confined and open spaces to avoid safety issues
- Run in order to retrieve an individual who is moving quickly away from staff
- Maintain balance while lowering to a half squat position
